*Job Title:* Communicative Disorders Assistant (Internationally Educated SLPs Welcome)
*Job Summary: *Catch a Balloon is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our team. We are specifically looking for a former Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) from their country of origin. The CDA will work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with communication disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a pediatric environment, excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for helping individuals improve their communication abilities.
*Job Description:*
* *Treatment Assistance*
* Implement therapy plans developed by Speech-Language Pathologists.
* Therapy plans will include speech production, language comprehension and expression, pragmatics skills, theory of mind, descriptive skills, articulation, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function
* Assist in developing and implementing therapy goals and objectives
* Utilize a variety of treatment modalities
* Treatment modalities include: articulation therapy, language therapy, oral motor exercises, cognitive-communication therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
* *Documentation and Reporting:*
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and treatment sessions.
* Prepare progress reports and communicate findings to supervising Speech-Language Pathologists.
* Document any changes in client status or treatment plans as directed.
* Communication and Collaboration:
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy strategies and progress.
* Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistants, and registered psychotherapist, to ensure interdisciplinary coordinated care.
* *Professional Development*
* Stay abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in speech-language pathology.
* Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
*Qualifications:*
* Graduate from an accredited Communicative Disorders Assistant program or International Speech Language Pathology Program
* 1-year minimum experience of Communicative Disorders Assistant/ Speech Language Pathology in pediatric-specific (required)
* Experience using a variety of AAC devices ( such as Proloquo2Go)
* Valid Work Permit: permits working in healthcare facilities and with children
