Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Tasks: Design dental devices. Modify dental devices including full or partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, inlays, onlays, clasps and bands. Prepare plaster models and moulds. Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases. Maintain and order supplies. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Finish metal framework of dentures. Polish and buff dentures. Area of specialization: Full dentures. Partial dentures. Ceramic or porcelain application. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Health benefits: Health care plan. Other benefits: Other benefits.
