The Director is responsible for all activities of the department and provides leadership at both the strategic and operational levels to the Corporate Administration team. As a key member of the leadership team, this position ensures the delivery of services to the organization related to Records Management, Council support, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, Election Administration, and more!What we?re looking for: A creative problem solver with thorough knowledge of local government act A strategic leader with an eye for commitment A resourceful individual with great decision making abilities A risk manager with the ability to assess departmental needs A Service driven leader with long term visonWho you are: Our ideal candidate will possess the following:A degree in Law, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field; and a post graduate degree in management and leadership (MBA). Five years experience as a Corporate Officer or municipal lawyer Certified or Master Municipal Clerk designation Parliamentary procedures courses and experience Administration of at least two local elections, preferably utilizing electronic voting machines Three year?s experience as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy HeadORminimum seven years progressive experience as a Corporate Officer And an equivalent combination of education, training and experienceWho we are: The District of Squamish is a progressive and growing community.
