<p>ASSISTANT<p>MANAGER OF MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES <p>1.0 FTE<p> Temporary position (As soon as possible to approx. January 2025)<p>Salary Range: $109,467 per year<p>The Simcoe<p>County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position<p>of Assistant Manager of Mental Health Services. This position will provide<p>leadership within the mental health and well-being department in the areas of<p>system and service specific mental health promotion, prevention, and<p>intervention. As a member of the mental<p>health and well-being management team, reporting to the Mental Health Lead, the<p>Assistant Managers primary responsibilities include:<p> <p>Supervising the day-to-day responsibilities of child<p>and youth work staff, providing<p>staff mentorship, coaching and consultation. This role may assist in the<p>supervision of the attendance counsellor rand social worker roles;<p> <p>Providing leadership<p>to staff in building system and classroom capacity in mental health literacy<p>and school-based programming rooted in trauma informed and responsive practices,<p>self-regulation and social emotional skill building that improve student<p>outcomes related to mental health, well-being and academics; <p> <p>Development and<p>delivery of training related to team and department professional development<p>goals;<p> <p>Coordination,<p>consultation and debrief of Violent Threat Risk Assessment responses with<p>system administration and response teams; <p>Supervision,<p>consultation and debrief to the Traumatic Incident Response Coordinator and<p>response teams;<p> <p>Review<p>applications and content for in-school presentation requests ensuring<p>consistency with school board strategic priorities, mental health and addiction<p>strategy, and assessment of fit of mental health awareness and promotion<p>initiatives; <p> <p>Engage in<p>cross departmental collaboration to plan for everyday mental health and<p>well-being staff practices as they intersect with special education, diversity,<p>equity and inclusion, Indigenous education and student achievement;<p> <p>Ensure<p>compliance with relevant professional practice standards, records management,<p>and other mandatory requirements (Human Resources, OCSWSSW, legislation<p>(Education Act, PHIPA etc.); <p> <p>Support the<p>development of operational best practices and procedures;<p> <p>Coordinate<p>student post-secondary education placements within the mental health and<p>well-being department, supporting a community of practice for placement<p>supervisors;<p> <p>Operationalize<p>the mental health and addiction strategy and mental health and well-being<p>strategic priorities;<p> <p>Other duties<p>as assigned.The Mental<p>Health Lead and Assistant Manager partnership requires trust and collaboration,<p>while inspiring and motivating others, ensuring a culture of belonging.
