Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Tasks: Test equipment to locate transmission faults. Install trunking systems, circuits and equipment. Instruct apprentices. Determine nature, cause and location of trouble. Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures. Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access. Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems. Splice, join and connect wires. Repair or replace defective telephone equipment. Equipment and machinery experience: Coaxial line.
