Education: College/CEGEP. Tasks: Consult with dentists on patient care. Instruct patients regarding oral hygiene. Clean and stimulate the gums to prevent gum disease. Apply fluoride treatment. Remove stains and deposits from teeth. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Dental Hygienists Licensure by the appropriate provincial or territorial governing body. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Eligible for professional liability insurance. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Interpersonal awareness.
