IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY ON THE WRDSB OCCASIONAL TEACHER ROSTER, PLEASE APPLY TO THE INTERNAL POSTING. <p>As per Article L26.03, D (1) of the WRDSB ETFO Local Collective Agreement; all openings occurring throughout the school year will be posted with one (1) follow-up posting as a result of a Teacher transfer resulting from the original posting. This contract opening is the result of a subsequent transfer, and as such, WRDSB ETFO contract teachers are not eligible to apply to this posting <p>Candidates that apply to this posting who are not qualified will have their names removed prior to the posting being released to the Principal. <p>1.0 FTE Special Education Itinerant Teacher - Hearing <p>Hearing Support Services The posting is open only to Permanent Contract Elementary Teachers. This posting will allow for part-time teachers to apply for positions which will increase their FTE. <p>Please note that the successful candidate will work out of Chicopee Hills P.S. The location of this assignment is subject to change. <p>The successful candidate will be working out of Chicopee Hills P.S. providing direct support to students with hearing needs in collaboration with the school special education team, classroom teachers and central board staff. Areas of focus include but are not limited to:<p> Supporting integration and teaching support to students as they integrate into classrooms at Chicopee Hills P.S.<p> Directly supporting communication and literacy skills, including the implementation of structured literacy for students with hearing needs.<p>Responsibilities: <p>Special Education Itinerant Teacher Responsibilities:<p>Under the direction of the System Administrator of Special Education:<p> Provide services to students and schools as assigned by the System Administrator of Special Education.<p> As a member of Learning Support Services, work in support of the WRDSBs Board Improvement and Equity Plan and the WRDSBs Multi-Year Strategic Plan<p> Supporting the Waterloo Region District School Boards Conditions for learning through a lens of Human Rights and Equity: Pedagogy and Assessment<p> Relationships<p> Environment <p> Following the Student Support Process, supporting student referrals to special education services<p> Promoting effective learning through Universal Design and Differentiated Instruction to address the WRDSB Strategic Plan and Board Equity and Improvement Plan<p> Supporting the special education needs of students across the Waterloo Region District School Boards<p> Supporting staff and schools through the implementation of effective teaching and learning practices that support student learning and achievement<p> Supporting school staff in implementation of evidence based teaching and learning practices and programming for students with special education needs<p> Collaboration with Learning Support Services to promote student learning and achievement<p> Apply professional and experience to promote student learning using appropriate pedagogy, assessment and evaluation, resources and technology in planning for a responding to the individual needs of students within the scope of the responsibilities as a teacher <p> Continually refine their professional practice through ongoing inquiry, dialogue and reflection.<p>Hearing Itinerant Teacher Responsibilities:<p> Supporting school staff in implementation of evidence based teaching and learning practices and programming for students with special education needs <p> Supporting Students utilizing the Tiered Structure of Support model and the WRDSBs Student Support Process<p> Through the Student Support Process, provide consultation to schools regarding
