School District 67 (Okanagan Skaha) <p>Posting 24-01 <p>EXCLUDED POSITION <p>Applications are invited for the following position in School District #67 (Okanagan Skaha):<p>Speech Language Pathologist <p>Temporary Part Time (0.40 FTE) effective April 22, 2024 - April 15, 2025, or the return of the incumbent. <p>This is a two day a week position. Initial assignment to Speech Language Pathology Program.<p> Reporting to the Director of Instruction - Inclusive Education, this position will involve working collaboratively with school teams to assess and plan for the needs of students requiring SLP support, including providing direct instruction (individually, in the classroom, or in small groups as appropriate). The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently to provide service to schools across the district as needed.<p> Duties and Responsibilities: <p><p> Screen and assess communication skills of students referred through the School Based Team<p> Assist with and support implementation of assistive communication tools and strategies with school staff<p> Provide education and resources to school staff and parents<p> Work collaboratively with school teams to develop individualized plans for students requiring SLP supports<p> Assist with providing social communication instruction with students<p> Coordinate with outside community agencies<p> Maintain student records, document assessments, progress notes and reports<p><p>Necessary qualifications include : <p><p> Master?s Degree in Speech Language Pathology<p> Related experience, preferably in an educational environment<p> Eligibility for, and membership in the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of BC<p> Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team<p> Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, and strong report writing skills<p> Experience in supporting children and youth with autism<p> Valid Driver?s license and a personal vehicle for travel between schools.<p><p> Salary Range: The starting annual salary for this part-time Speech Language Pathologist position ranges from $25,067 - $42,486, based on the teacher?s salary grid in the collective agreement, education, and experience.
