Snow Queen Winter Management, one of Vancouver's largest winter service providers, is seeking an Operations Supervisor with experience to join our team.
This unique contractor position is a great opportunity for career-driven individuals looking for advancement possibilities.
*Things to note about this position are:*
* Hours will fluctuate throughout the year based on weather systems, seasonal tasks, and projects, but you can expect approx. 20 hours weekly from May - Sept and 20-50 hours weekly from Nov - Apr. Additional hours can be gained throughout the year by assisting with projects and tasks in other departments.
* You must be available weekdays from 9:00AM - 5:00PM plus on-call 24/7 before, after, and during snow storms between Nov 1 and Mar 31.
* On-call shifts are often overnight and can be over 12 hours in duration.
* This is a hybrid position so certain duties can be done remotely, while others must be performed at our office, salt depot sites, or client sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
* Heavy lifting and shoveling may be required.
* A candidate is required to have a winter-ready vehicle and a Class 5 license in order to get to and from the office during snow storms and travel to our salt depots and clients? sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
* Training is October 15th to the 18th during the day.
* This is a fast-paced and challenging position during storms that requires someone that doesn?t fold under pressure and can think on their feet while being diplomatic.
Rate: Starting at $25/hr - based on experience
The Operations Supervisor will provide crucial support to the Director of Operations and step in to assist with day-to-day operations as needed, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the business. They will report directly to the Director of Operations.
*Core Responsibilities:*
* Assist in managing and coordinating daily operational activities and staff.
* Ground crew coordination and providing hands-on assistance to ground crews when needed.
* Site inspections and hazard assessments.
* Managing inventory, including stock tracking, ordering, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
* Act as the company representative and help manage clients and contractor expectations as needed.
* Assisting in tactical planning and decision making during storms.
* Managing a forklift at our salt depots.
* Picking up and dropping off materials (such as bags of salt), supplies, and documents.
* Cross-department collaboration.
* Assist in streamlining, updating, and documenting processes.
* Implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to quality standards.
* Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports on operational efficiencies.
* General administrative work.
