Job Description Provincial Pharmacy ManagerQuality and Medication SafetyTemporary Full-TimeLocation: To be Determined (PCN: 56716TMP)About the Role Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, Labrador Grenfell Zone, this position is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of a continuous quality improvement program to enhance medication safety, prevent medication-related harm, meet and exceed Accreditation Canada Medication Management standards, provincial and national pharmacy standards of practice, and Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada best practices. The successful candidate will enhance a culture of quality through use of data with a focus on improving health outcomes and support organizational accountability for health outcomes through monitoring and reporting on quality, safety, and performance of pharmacy services as aligned with Health Accord recommendations. The Provincial Pharmacy Manager coordinates the development of Pharmacy policies. This position plans, develops, leads, organizes, coordinates, and manages the continuous advancement of the Accreditation Canada Medication Management standards. As a member of the Provincial Pharmacy leadership team, the manager participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Provincial Pharmacy Program strategic directions and objectives as well as process improvement projects. The manager liaises with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results and is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources; financial management including operating budget accountability; and human resources management including performance reviews and attendance management. Periodic travel to multiple sites within the province is required. Qualifications: " Graduation from an approved School of Pharmacy is required. " Equivalency of education and experience may be considered." Master's degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Business or a related field is an asset" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check Experience " A minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) in a hospital pharmacy environment with experience with managing projects of a complex nature. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) " Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities related to the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, technology and informatics management, in healthcare settings." Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills." Ability to manage and direct continuous improvement and quality processes." Demonstrated strong leadership skills focused on supporting and empowering members of the team." Demonstrated strong critical thinking skills and innovation in problem solving and decision making." Demonstrated strong conflict management skills." Ability to work with a high degree of independence and initiative." Ability to manage change and continuous improvement. Other " Current registration/licensure with the Newfoundland and Labrador Pharmacy Board." A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required. Salary: " In accordance with the Hay Management Plan. Plus, Labrador Allowance if applicable.
