Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Wet/damp. Hot. Work setting: Food service establishment. Restaurant. Fine dining establishment. Tasks: Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Hire food service staff. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards. Prepare budget and cost estimates. Prepare food order summaries for chef. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres. Supervise and check delivery of food trolleys. Establish work schedules. Supervision: 3-4 people. Food and beverage servers. Kitchen and food service helpers. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Food Safety Certificate. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Flexibility. Team player.
