*We are seeking a**Permanent Fulltime Intermediate Accountant **at the Brenda Strafford Foundation.*
Reporting to the Controller, the Intermediate Accountant is a key member of the finance team that is responsible for transacting the day-to-day financial operations of the foundation, ensuring that all reporting requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
As a representative of the Brenda Strafford Foundation, the person in this position is a leader in the Foundation?s efforts to deliver a person-centered care approach, promote a culture of safety, and is accountable to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values in the achievement of the strategic priorities of The Foundation.
*Job duties and responsibilities include:*
· Prepare reoccurring and ad hoc journal entries as required
· Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
· Reconcile and maintain GL accounts, including but not limited to: Bank reconciliations, long-term and current portion of long-term debt, investments, capital/including capital contributions, deferred revenue.
· Draw up monthly financial reports for senior accountant review
· Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
· Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable including monthly accrual calculations and year end closing as well as payroll administration and reconciliations
· Support and back up payables lead position with data entry and weekly payment runs
· Assist in preparing budgets
· Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and cheque differences
· Review and process capital transactions including calculation and recoding of depreciation, capital accruals and asset additions and disposals
· Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
· Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
· Recommend and make process improvements to improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting processes
· Valid driver?s license and ability to commute between sites.
*Education and experience:*
· Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree or related experience in finance or accounting
· Have or working towards CPA designation considered an asset
· 2 years? experience in general accounting
· Knowledge of accounting principles and reporting
· Knowledge of finance principles and reporting
· Power BI capabilities experience is an asset
· Leadership skills both in leading initiatives as well as in the team development
· Excellent communication skills
· Innovative skills to generate novel solutions to work situations
· Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills
· Strong Microsoft Office application skills with a focus on Excel
· Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $63,493.04-$75,727.18 per year
