Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Tasks: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Operate CADD and other computer software systems. Oversee apprenticeship training. Prepare production and other reports. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Establish methods to meet work schedules. Read blueprints and drawings. Recommend personnel actions. Requisition materials and supplies. Supervise workers and projects. Train or arrange for training. Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units. Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing. Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools. Supervision: 3-4 people. 5-10 people. Apprentices. Labourers. Bricklayers.
