Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Prepare patients for dental examinations. Supervise dental assistants in their health care functions. Order dental and office supplies. Perform administrative functions for the dental laboratory. Prepare dental instruments and filling materials. Maintain and order supplies. Perform reception and clerical duties. Educate patients concerning oral hygiene. Schedule and confirm appointments. Invoice patients for dental services. Take preliminary impressions for diagnostic casts. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Word. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Excellent oral communication.
