Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Health care institution, facility or clinic. Tasks: Abstract, assemble and analyze clinical data and related demographic information from health records according to established policies and procedures. Collect, code, cross-reference and store health records and related information. Operate information systems to maintain indexes for classification systems and to manage and retrieve health records information. Prepare medical, social and administrative statistics. Classify, code, cross-reference, log and store records. Implement and update records classification, retention and disposal scheduling plans. Operate information retrieval systems to research and extract records. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Personal suitability: Accurate.
