Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.What you will doReporting to the Bridge Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities:assisting with various bridge and culvert maintenance; painting; jack hammering; assisting with construction of formwork; installing signs; patching bridges (shoveling and raking asphalt); installing and repairing guiderails and culverts; maintaining buildings and grounds; traffic control.Work environment:Office location: Bathurst Bridge Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours May work in adverse road and weather conditions and working from heights We promote a scent-reduced environment.Who you areKey behavioural competencies:Effective Interactive Communication Flexibility Results Orientation Teamwork and CooperationEssential Qualifications:Completion of grade ten (10) and a minimum of one (1) year experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New BrunswickAn equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English and/or French is required.
